FREE HEALTH CHECKS AT KBFPC

For nine years now, KBFPC has been letting women know about the Alaska Breast and Cervical Health Check Program that covers the cost of an annual exam for women 21-64, including a mammogram for women 40-64.

Kachemak Bay Family Planning Clinic is a BCHC provider in Homer.

The Alaska Breast and Cervical Health Check (BCHC) program provides breast and cervical cancer screening to women ages 21 to 64 who meet certain income guidelines, who do not have insurance, cannot meet their deductible or whose insurance does not pay for BCHC services.  If any of these screening exams are abnormal, BCHC also provides diagnostic testing to rule out other problems, including cancer.  If a woman is screened and diagnosed with cancer through the Alaska Breast and Cervical Health Check program, she may be eligible to have treatment paid for by Medicaid.
